dj ShmeeJay‘s Ain’t No Big Thing radio show, live on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 8pm – 10pm (PST) / 11pm – 1am (EST) on BoxFrequency.fm.

This episode i host Madrid  based deejay and producer Javí Frias.  Heavily influenced by soulful music from mid nineties, since then he has the opportunity of spread the message of dance music, being resident DJ of legendary clubs like Marula Café, Tempo Club, Café Berlin and El Junco in Madrid, as well as Afrodisia and Boogaclub in Granada. He’s graced the stage and and djed at the Baltic Soul Weekender (Germany), Contre-Temps Festival (France), Heineken Jazzaldia (Spain), Cultura Inquieta (Spain) and Imagina Funk (Spain). His DJ sets are an elegant, addictive and eclectic mix of energy covering the broad spectrum of the  underground dance music: soul, funk, jazz, rare grooves, disco, boogie, soulful house…and mostly from his vinyl collection.

As a producer he’s well know for his incendiary disco edits and reworks, done in an ‘old school’ way, respecting the artist’s original sound, but adding some re-touches to make them more enjoyable on the dance floor. His productions have caught the attention of big names in the disco and house scene, releasing his first 12″ called ‘Disco Edits Vol. 1‘ on Street Edits, label owned by the renowned Chicago  based DJ and producer Rahaan. Javi’s also edited some digital EPs on top labels like Midnight Riot, Hotbox Boogie, and Editorial.

Last April he released ‘Discotizer EP‘ for the British label Giant Cuts, and have a few more vinyl releases scheduled from Bons Records, Wall Of Fame or Boogie Cafe Records.

In addition to his work as a DJ and producer, he’s the drummer of the top soul band Al Supersonic & The Teenagers.

This episode I host US based producer Earwig. Earwig makes chunky, funky edits as a part of the Shoes Crew, dark and heavy ethnic beats with Broken Compass and also runs the edits/remix label Plimsoll Records. The Earwig solo palette includes elements of afro-latin, dub, and techy future vibes. This episode I host Warrington born UK Producer Danny Worrall, aka 80’s Child. Danny is a true Child of the 80’s, born in 1980 and raised by his parents on a strict diet of Toto, Prince, Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Michael Jackson and the like. Danny’s edits have grown wilder as he’s experimented, extended and completely re-worked into some of the hottest club edits around over the past couple of years. 2015 has been a stand out year for 80’s Child. Having established himself on the nu-disco & edit scene, supplying some of the standout tracks for the year, he’s started the label Masterworks Music with a whole slew of stand out releases during the past year, and with 2016 going off to a promising start with a 10″ vinyl release scheduled to hit the streets January 16, 2016. Be on the lookout people!!!!
