This week I host Goz. Many moons ago (early 90s), one of my best mates had a set of technics that he introduced me to, and let me spin a few tunes. It wasn’t long before I was completely immersed in learning how to beat match and the technicalities of making a mix sound good. My pad back then was the meeting point for the troops on evenings, and at weekends, so I housed the decks for a couple of years. We used to spin tunes pre, and post, nights out. I done this for a few years and then had to stop, for varying reasons, for around 15 years. I never lost the love for quality music and used to always be on the hunt for tapes/cd’s/ great mixes on Soundcloud etc. from my favourtie Dj’s. During that time my musical tastes changed quite a bit and disco, soul, funk and hip hop were my go to genres. In 2014 I was working away from home Mon-Fri so I started buying tunes again, then equipment and got the bug back and started putting a mixes on soundcloud, just as a hobby I was passionate about.
Present day I am now part of 2 radio shows. I was approached by the owners of New York based myhouseradio.fm (Recently awarded #1 House Station and Blog in the world) to run my own 2 hour weekly radio show. My show is called Spin City and it has just passed it’s 1st year anniversary. During that time I’ve had some of the best names in our scene on the show and this next year coming will not be any different! You can catch the show live (and come and have a chat with me during the show) on myhouseradio.fm/chat/ every Sundays 7-9pm (GMT) 2-4pm (EST)
I am also part of a 3 man team with two friends, Lex and Chris Tibs based here in Scotland. We have a radio show that goes out to around 5000 folks each week, every Saturday night 8-10pm. It’s called The House Theory Radio Show and we have had, and will bring you a Who’s who collection of guest mixes from all the biggest names on the scene, whilst also hosting the show live on air.
