This episode I host US based producer Earwig. Earwig makes chunky, funky edits as a part of the Shoes Crew, dark and heavy ethnic beats with Broken Compass and also runs the edits/remix label Plimsoll Records. The Earwig solo palette includes elements of afro-latin, dub, and techy future vibes. Recent remixes for Tal M. Klein “House on the Left” and the Automats “Pass Me By” showcase the Shoe sound.

This episode I host Austrian producer, dj and producer Sammy Jenkins, aka LeSale. Unlike many other producers, LeSale doesn’t claim to have an obnoxious uncle with an immense record collection or a far away cousin who was a cult DJ in the disco-era – all his love and interest for collecting, playing and producing music was self-generated in his late teens, where he went from listening to hip hop to vocal house, edging slightly on the latin & broken beat movement, whence he returned to house and finally touched base with disco music, quickly realizing that all the music he loved evolved somehow from this truly inspiring genre. He also produced remixes for Voyeurrhythm, Undertones, Dikso, MB Disco & Audio Parallax.

Renowned for his elegant edits and unique style, LeSale’s work finds its’ way swiftly into a couple of mixes, digital DJ-Bags and some blogs on the interweb. In the depths of winter, 2011, he finally got connected with Simonlebon, Lee Stevens, Jakobin & Domino to form the label Luv Shack Records.

This episode I host German deejay Martin Welzer, commonly known as dj Friction. Martin was born in 1970 near Stuttgart in Southwest Germany and began mixing and collecting Records in 1985. After competing in various deejay battles (such as the DMC German Championships 1991) he had his first residency in a Club in Stuttgart in 1991. Troughout the 90’s he was mostly known as a Hip Hop deejay and as a member of chart topping Hip Hop Band Freundeskreis. With Freundeskreis he released 2 Studio Albums (incl. the Gold Selling “Esperanto” LP), 1 Live Album and a Best Of Album (FK 10 in 2007). He later released 3 Solo Albums, made countless Remixes (for the likes of The Jackson 5, Das EFX, The Pharcyde, Die Fantastischen Vier, Malente just to name a few) and his current projects include Motor Mouth with Philip König and Bodymovin with DJ Thomilla. Nowadays he’s mostly into Nu-Disco, House, Electro- + Discofunk. As a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s his influences are Discofunk, Electrofunk, Boogie, Soul, Italo Disco, Hip Hop and House.
