Eugene Tambourine & dj ShmeeJay – Ain’t No Big Thing Radio Show- 2015-02-15

February 16, 2015

dj ShmeeJay‘s Ain’t No Big Thing radio show, live on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month from 8pm – 11pm (GMT) / 3pm – 6pm (EST) / Noon – 3pm (PST) on BoxFrequency.fm.

This episode I host Brooklyn, New York based musician, producer, and dj Eugene Tambourine. Eugene Tambourine is one of those rare DJs whose broad-ranging tastes can educate, transport, confuse, elate and inspire all at the same time. I first heard Eugene at the Seattle’s Pony a couple of years back and i loved his energy. Along with spinning great sets, Eugene is also a very established musician and producer. His precisely crafted edits are bright and introspective while being very complimentary to the original version. He also recently toured the world with singer-songwriter Scott Matthew.

You can find more of Eugene Tambourine on his SoundCloud and MixCloud respectively.

A couple of weeks a go my friend Akis contacted me suggesting that we make a mix together. Something for the summer, now that it’s starting to warm up here on the northern hemisphere. The only challenge is that Akis is in Greece and I in the northwest US, so we couldn’t very well get together and do it. So we agreed on a concept, something to play on your way to the beach. We’d each do a mix, and then we’d combine them and make them available as one full set. The result, I think, is lovely.

I urge you to download this and play it in your car, or out on the balcony. Enjoy it with friends. Play it with the volume up, and the windows down.

To find more from VinylAddicted, you can find him on Facebook and Twitter as well as he runs a blog detailing his awesome record collection at JustLoveVinyls.Blogspot.com.

All of our love and respect to the producers and musicians who made this music.
