dj ShmeeJay‘s Ain’t No Big Thing radio show, live on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 8pm – 10pm (PST) / 11pm – 1am (EST) on BoxFrequency.fm.

This episode i host Ooft! Ooft! has been doing the business for years now with his rock solid original productions and rather cheeky edits. Releasing on the now infamous Instruments of Rapture, Delusions of Grandeur and Wolf Music amongst other labels, he has recently been focusing his own output on Foto Recordings.

As a DJ he has held residencies at top clubs like The Sub Club in Glasgow as well as touring around Europe, and is known for dropping just about anything in his sets from slow mo tackle to disco sounds to classic house music.

Originally running the L.E.S.S. Productions imprint alongside The Revenge and DJ 2Three, Ali’s main creative outlet is now his label Foto Recordings. In addition to original Ooft! material the label has also released deep, detroit-inspired house music from Deep Space Orchestra, Andy Ash, Medlar, Luvless, MermaidS and more.

This episode i host Washington DC based deejay, Martín Miguel.  Martín is resident at the two clubs Eighteenth Street Lounge and Flash, as well as the label boss for the up and coming label Better Listen Records. He used to be editor for the now defunct but always classy music blog Dance Party Chronicles, sometimes contributor at Bolting Bits, as well as soul music party promoter at Thelonius. To say the least, there are few things that Martín is not involved with, and it’s a royal treat to host him for my 2016 winter solstice funstravaganza show.

This episode i host Seattle based deejay and party starter, Night Train.  Cruising the beat universe on his harmonica spaceship, the Night Train just probably graced a venue near you. This local favorite adds edgy and innovative sounds to dance floors across town. Starting in 2007 playing along side DJ’s adding live harmonica over the traditional DJ set, the Night Train has since become a DJ himself playing live harmonica over his own set! Musical styles that usually includes House, Disco, and all things in between.  Currently in residency at the monthly DROP at Monkey Loft and a long time part of local Seattle DJ crew/record label Innerflight Music. Choosing from his bandolero straps of harmonicas, the Night Train… If you’re crossing the bridge between digital and analog, you’ll probably end up catching a ride on the Night Train.

This episode i host Amsterdam, Netherlands based fella, the Starkiller. The Starkiller’s life goal is to make disco music. He started putting beats & synths together in the late 90s: first focussing on breakbeat, later on all things disco–edits, remixes but also original material, operating within the dark triangle spanned by italo, cosmic/space disco and balearic (and the occasional excursion into rock, r&b and soul). I am a big fan, and this is one of those speciall shows that I am super excited to be able to host.
