This time I host Fleetwood Smack from Los Angeles, CA. After meeting in Los Angeles and comparing collections, Adam and Niles immediately formed a camaraderie. With tastes so perfectly matched playing together was a natural evolution. In their first public performance atop the Charlie The Unicorn art car at Burning Man 2011, they dropped a blend of funky, dirty, and electro house & breaks that slayed the dance floor. Immediately after returning their rented Fleetwood RV they took on the name Fleetwood Smack and in the year to follow have shared the stage with such talent as TJR, Mike Balance, and DJ Dan. With a 15 year old music collection with thousands of quality tracks, and a collective 33 years of house, breaks, and techno knowledge between them, Fleetwood Smack has what it takes to curate a set that keeps the dance floor jumping.

This week I host  Goz. Many moons ago (early 90s), one of my best mates had a set of technics that he introduced me to, and let me spin a few tunes. It wasn’t long before I was completely immersed in learning how to beat match and the technicalities of making a mix sound good. My pad back then was the meeting point for the troops on evenings, and at weekends, so I housed the decks for a couple of years. We used to spin tunes pre, and post, nights out. I done this for a few years and then had to stop, for varying reasons, for around 15 years. I never lost the love for quality music and used to always be on the hunt for tapes/cd’s/ great mixes on Soundcloud etc. from my favourtie Dj’s. During that time my musical tastes changed quite a bit and disco, soul, funk and hip hop were my go to genres. In 2014 I was working away from home Mon-Fri so I started buying tunes again, then equipment and got the bug back and started putting a mixes on soundcloud, just as a hobby I was passionate about.

Present day I am now part of 2 radio shows. I was approached by the owners of New York based myhouseradio.fm (Recently awarded #1 House Station and Blog in the world) to run my own 2 hour weekly radio show. My show is called Spin City and it has just passed it’s 1st year anniversary. During that time I’ve had some of the best names in our scene on the show and this next year coming will not be any different! You can catch the show live (and come and have a chat with me during the show) on myhouseradio.fm/chat/ every Sundays 7-9pm (GMT) 2-4pm (EST)

I am also part of a 3 man team with two friends, Lex and Chris Tibs based here in Scotland. We have a radio show that goes out to around 5000 folks each week, every Saturday night 8-10pm. It’s called The House Theory Radio Show and we have had, and will bring you a Who’s who collection of guest mixes from all the biggest names on the scene, whilst also hosting the show live on air. You can find links for our facebook page in my bio.

Check him out at all of his online spaces. SoundCloud, Facebook, and HearThis.

Rayko_Ain't No Big Thing-Freq2

dj ShmeeJay‘s Ain’t No Big Thing podcast,  syndicated through iTunes and with a new musical episode released about twice per month.

This week I host Rayko.  Spanish producer extraordinaire Rayko has been a leading light in the disco scene since 2008, the year he launched his magnificent Rare Wiri imprint. Since then his name has appeared on literally dozens of great records scattered across labels like Eskimo, Is It Balearic? and Nang. Deeply rooted in ’70s and ’80s disco, funk, boogie and rock, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs.

His mind-blowing edit of Candi Staton’s ‘Broadway’ came in at number 1 in Juno’s best of 2011 disco chart, proving he’s right at the crest of the disco edit wave. But his talents don’t stop there. He’s delved into original productions and remixes, being asked to lend his skilled hand to tracks by Psychemagik, Ajello, and Ilya Santana, to name a few,…As a DJ, he’s been shipped over to the USA, Africa, Asia, South and North America and all around Europe, and his global following is quite obviously illustrated by his massive following on SoundCloud. As the months go on and his catalogue expands, Rayko is rapidly becoming one of the most loved names in modern day disco.

For bookings contact Paul@TheUnityAgency.co.uk.

Check him out at all of his online spaces. SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter, MixCloud, Resident Advisor, BandCamp, YouTube and Instagram.
